OUTRIGGER NOOSA RIVER RACE IS ON AGAIN!
Noosa Outrigger Canoe Club is set to welcome competitive teams for its second River Race on Saturday 28 November!, which follows on from the huge success of the 2014 event.
Dozens of sleek 6 person outrigger canoes will converge on the Noosa River from more than 20 clubs from around the South Queensland Coast, with the male and female competitors ranging in age from under 12s to over 80s.
The River Race is the third race of the South Queensland Zone regatta season, with clubs competing for season points.
The inaugural River Race in 2014 attracted more than 100 teams overall from Southern Queensland and Northern NSW, and this year’s event promises to offer some great action once again.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to see these canoes close up as they paddle up and down the river and around the Noosa Sound. You can catch the action at the Noosa River along Gympie Terrace, Munna Point, Munna Bridge, The Lions Park Noosa, Harbour Town Marina or the Yacht and Rowing club – so come along from 7am – 3pm and enjoy the spectacle!
You might enjoy watching the River Race so much that you’ll want to try for yourself. NOCC will host a Come & Try on Saturday 5 December, 9am – noon. For further information see – https://www.noosaoutriggers.com.au/
