Noosa Outrigger Season starts on a positive note

The perfect sunny winter weather arrived just in time for the first Southern Queensland competitive outrigger canoe event of the season, and the Noosa Outrigger Canoe Club (NOCC) made the most of the great conditions to reconfirm that it can compete with the best with encouraging results.
Held on 3 August 2013, the first event of the season was hosted by Mooloolaba OCC. Noosa Outrigger Canoe Club competitors John Goller (Master Men) and Des Mabbott (Senior Master Men) gained first and second respectively in the OC1 long course race, of 14km.
In the OC1 short course race, of 8km, the placing results where John Goller first in the Master Men, Des Mabbott third in the Senior Master Men, Victoria James second in the Senior Master Women, Harry Crockford first in the Golden Master Men, and Craig Harris first in the Platinum Men.
The NOCC competitors are looking forward to adding to their successes at the next OC1 race event, to be hosted by Bundaberg OCC on 24 August 2013.
