Great Day Out (9th April, 2013) – Paddle Picnic
Noosa Recreational Paddlers had a great day out on the water
Despite threatening clouds and a week of showers the sun gods shined on us for the whole paddle from 9am until 3pm.
From Chaplin Park near the Noosa Yacht Club we paddled two 6 person canoes alongside a Pontoon Boat we hired from Pelican Boat Hire upthe Noosa River to Johns Landing, just past Lake Cooroibah, a distance of about 20km return.
Everyone got a turn at paddling and had a ride on the pontoon boat. We enjoyed a delicious morning tea with ‘real’ coffee followed by a sumptuous lunch with all sorts of delicacies, supplied by the paddlers.
It was a great day, great paddle with great enthusiasm!
The group which is part of Noosa Outrigging Canoe Club offers a healthy and friendly challenge to active locals and retirees with these canoe excursions on Noosa’s river system. You are welcome to join us to test your upper-body muscles as you glide along the waterways viewing soaring sea eagles, kites and crested turns.
